About the ASCRS Foundation
The ASCRS Foundation is one of the three key pillars of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS). This philanthropic effort is focused on eradicating preventable blindness by educating, providing resources, and empowering the ophthalmic community to provide humanitarian ophthalmic surgery and care, both domestically and abroad.

Operation Sight
The Foundation’s U.S.-based charitable cataract surgery program serves financially vulnerable, uninsured Americans who cannot afford or access care. Through Operation Sight’s nationwide network of volunteer surgeons, it has delivered more than 10,000 surgeries to date.
International Humanitarian Eye Care & Education
The ASCRS Foundation is working in partnership with other organizations to address the shortage of eye surgeons in the developing world. The solution is two-fold: to create world-class medical centers where efficient doctors can establish a presence and to focus on education.
