Category: New Techniques
I describe a new scleral fixation technique for every foldable posterior chamber intraocular lens (IOL) available on the market, regardless of whether it is a 3-piece, single piece, or haptic shape. I perform the transfixion of the IOL optic in 4 points with the Gore-Tex suture for scleral fixation through four sclerotomies 2 mm from the limbus (2 sclerotomies on each nasal and temporal sides).
